Why Choose CommonSpot?

You can organize and re-use content in unparalleled ways.

Metadata Architecture
Content organization is as important as the content itself for a successful website. What good is great content if site visitors can’t find it?  CommonSpot gives business users the ability to organize and classify content in unparalleled ways.

Unlike most CMS’, CommonSpot enables subject matter experts to access the site’s information architecture so they can decide how to organize and classify the content they have created. Standard metadata (such as title, keyword, description, publication date, etc.) is automatically collected during the page creation process.  CommonSpot, however, allows users to easily create additional metadata specific to your organization’s needs.  Custom metadata enables users to easily tag content with a specific category (such as department or location), and then tag it with information on how, when and where that content should be displayed (such as include content created after a particular date on product and news pages in the third column on the right hand side of the page).  The result is increased search relevancy, a more targeted and personalized experience for the site visitor, and better content re-use throughout the website. With CommonSpot's metadata architecture, the possibilities for categorizing and re-using are endless—and no technical know-how is required.

Taxonomy and Facet-Based Navigation
CommonSpot enables non-technical users to classify and organize content in ways that far exceed other content management systems.  CommonSpot has a strong metadata architecture and unparalleled taxonomy capabilities, which when combined, enable subject matter experts to classify content (such as a men’s shirt, size XL, or blue) and organize content the way they want for their area of responsibility (such as a product catalog).  This gives subject matter experts complete control over what site visitors see when searching. Then leveraging CommonSpot’s facet-based navigation capabilities, they can easily drive site visitors through a logical path of discovery helping them locate the exact content they are searching for (by product type, location, or price range for example) providing a powerful alternative to text search, and the best site visitor experience possible.

Where CommonSpot really stands apart however, lies in the user’s ability to dynamically display any information tagged with the same taxonomy throughout the site—without writing any code.  Whether presenting content on related pages (such as men’s shirts, or matching suits) or adding the content to a dynamic list of links (suggested father’s day gifts for example), content can be re-used dynamically throughout the site using custom metadata.
