Permission Based Views
The development of a Web site includes many people, all responsible for contributing to the site in a different manner, each with different skills.
CommonSpot provides the appropriate tools that empower each participant effectively. Based on the user's role, privileges and security restrictions, CommonSpot personalizes user interface components and menus for every page and element within the Web site, ensuring that each user has access to exactly what he or she needs. The menu below, in Author mode, shows a user with Authoring and Approval privileges.

CommonSpot displays through several different views, tools specific for viewing, authoring, editing, previewing and approving content and pages. Access to certain features is further predictated on a user's role, privileges and the security restrictions for the page, or elements on the page. Roles include the ability to design, author, edit, approve, comment and administer. A single user can have many different roles from one page to the next.

Various user interface components, including icons and menu options are presented only as appropriate. Those features that a user is restricted from accessing are hidden, greatly simplifying his/her interaction with the tool.
