Section 508 Accessibility Support
Compliance with “Section 508” web site accessibility guidelines is an important topic for many governments and other organizations concerned with building and maintaining Web sites. In fact, much of the burden in creating a site that adheres to the guidelines is still placed on the site designer. When a site is opened up to many potential authors, such as in a content management environment, the problem of maintaining compliance can be compounded. CommonSpot aids this problem by providing several options for administrators and page authors to make accessibility easier.
Many CommonSpot elements provide fields for entering data to make a page more compliant to W3C guidelines. For example, the layout element (table) provides field for Summary Text. Text entered here will be placed in the table tag, and will be picked up by browser-readers.
