BOSTON, November 19th, 2009 — PaperThin, Inc., a leading Web content management solution provider, today announced that the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD)—an alliance of five national associations, six district associations, and a Research Consortium—launched a completely new Web presenceusing the CommonSpot Web content management solution.

Launched just one year after purchasing CommonSpot, AAHPERD’s new Web presence includes:

  •  AAHPERD (www.aahperd.org): The umbrella organization, including six District Association sites
  • Five National Association sites, including: the American Association for Health Education (AAHE); the American Association for Physical Activity and Recreation (AAPAR); the National Association for Girls and Women in Sport (NAGWS); the National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE); and the National Dance Association (NDA)
  • A Research Consortium site
  • And two project sites, including: Jump Rope for Heart and Hoops for Heart.

Each website features a unique design, yet follows brand standards dictated by AAHPERD. Content re-use capabilities improved Web content organization and freshness, and significantly improved productivity organization-wide.  New Web advertising opportunities were also created, as well as an online job board and other features designed to improve donations and increase non-dues revenues.

“Brand management was a big business driver for purchasing CommonSpot which enabled us to promote AAHPERD as well as the individual brands in a completely new way.  This facelift has brought renewed energy to the organization and our community—and with it more credibility with the Association world,” said Jennifer Jones, director of marketing, AAHPERD.

“The response to the new sites has been great. Productivity has improved across the organization, and site traffic is up 30% from this time last year—a significant jump given we’ve only been live for a short time,” added Tina Ma, web manager, AAHPERD.

“AAHPERD is a great example of the scale of what you can accomplish in a relatively short period of time given the right Web content management tools, Web development staff, and a knowledgeable support team,” said Bob Cellucci, senior vice president, PaperThin.  “AAHPERD’s Web presence has been significantly elevated and we’re really happy to have contributed to that outcome.”

CommonSpot is a flexible, scalable, and easy-to-use Web content management solution that enables organizations to improve productivity and achieve better results from their Web initiatives.  CommonSpot empowers non-technical users to publish any type of content (text, forms, video, images, RSS, etc.) via any delivery channel (Web, streaming media, mobile devices, etc.) with minimal IT involvement making them more self-sufficient and productive.  The solution’s inherent flexibility and scalability empowers IT and site administrators to easily adapt the system—whether you want out-of-the-box applications that you can customize; the ability to create your own applications through a development framework; or the ability to easily integrate with, or import and export applications.  CommonSpot serves as a Web foundation that maximizes the delivery, value, and timeliness of the content that drives your business.
