Mark Richey Woodworking crafts and installs high-end architectural millwork that is among the finest in the country. The Mark Richey Woodworking website was designed to appeal to General Contractors, Architects, Corporations and Individuals, who are the target audience and buyers of their premium architectural woodworking services. The website was built entirely on CommonSpot and showcases their work using unique interactive flash-based features.

PaperThin Partner, RainCastle Communications worked with Mark Richey to design and develop their site. RainCastle built the projects section of the website in a database with a Flash interface. This approach benefits the user by enabling one to seamlessly view consecutive projects without the interruption of constant page refreshing. It benefits the Mark Richey team in that maintenance is routine — they do not need to know Flash in order to load fresh projects and images into the site whenever they choose.

Additionally, RainCastle created a “Facility Tour,” with an intuitive interface consisting of a clickable floor plan. When site visitors click different areas of the floor plan, photographs from that part of the plant appear in a window and the user has the option of clicking up to 10 different views of each area.

Awards

The Mark Richey website has won numerous awards including, a Webby Award for Website Standard of Excellence, American Graphic Design Award, Creativity Gold Award of Excellence for the website and logo, honorable mention for the Society of Marketing Professional Services and was a finalist for the 2007 MITX awards.
